Over the past week, Liberals have been working overtime trying to quash conservative country music star Jason Aldean’s new anti-revival anthem, “Try That In A Small Town.” Unfortunately for these hateful leftists, their efforts officially backfired, as they only helped make the song a huge hit!

“Try This In A Small Town” Is A Huge Hit
Although “Try That In A Small Town” dropped in May, the Liberals lost their minds when the music video for the song was released on July 14, as it dared to show the violence and mayhem caused by the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots.
USA today reported that “the song reached 11.7 million audio and video on-demand streams between July 14 and July 20, marking a 1,000% increase from the previous week”. Prior to the music video’s release, “Try That In A Small Town” had 987,000 streams in the United States, but in the same week digital sales jumped from 1,000 to 228,000.
Before CMT released the music video for the song, it had 350,000 views on YouTube, but that number has since skyrocketed to over 18 million views at the time of this writing. Besides that, it’s also the #1 trending video in the “music” category.
“Try That In A Small Town” hit No. 1 on iTunes, and it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week just behind BTS’ solo single Jung Kook. “Seven,” featuring Latto. Perhaps most impressive of all, the Anti-Revival song had the biggest week of sales for a country song in over a decade.

Aldean denies the song is “pro-lynching”
It comes a week after Aldean denied claims from the left that his new music video was ‘pro-lynching’.
“In the past 24 hours, I’ve been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that’s been out since May) and faced the comparison that I (direct quote) wasn’t too happy with the nationwide BLM protests,” he said. “These references are not only baseless, but dangerous.”
“There isn’t a single lyric in the song that references or points to race – and there isn’t a single music video that isn’t actual news footage – and while I may try to respect others for having their own take on a song with music – this one takes it too far,” he continued. “’Try That In A Small Town’, for me, refers to the sense of community I had growing up, where we cared for our neighbors regardless of differences in background or belief. Because they were our neighbors, and that was above all difference.
Aldean has long been known to be one of the only overtly conservative stars in the entertainment world, so being targeted by the left is not a new experience for him. However, he took issue with the cancel culture mob trying to portray “Try That In A Small Town” as being a racist song, when it’s not that at all.
“My political views have never been something I hid from, and I know a lot of us in this country disagree on how to get back to a sense of normalcy where we go at least a day without a title that keeps us up at night,” Aldean concluded. “But the desire there is – that’s what this song is about.”
