On Tuesday, the Louisiana legislature voted to override a veto on a bill banning hormone therapy and puberty blockers for minors.
Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards previously vetoed the bill passed by the legislature in June.
Republicans won a supermajority in March when State Representative Francis Thompson switched parties in the State House. They did not, however, strike down two other bills that would have prevented sexuality from being discussed in schools and one to require teachers to use pronouns assigned to a child at birth, according to Breitbart News.
This override of the veto really seemed to upset Louisiana State University professor Marcus Venable, who reportedly left a very angry voicemail message to an elected official threatening death. He calls Sen. Mike Fesi a “big-headed asshole mother” and says he “can’t wait to read your name in the fucking obituary.”

I just wanted to say ‘Congratulations, to our State Senator, Big Mike Fesi. And that fucking moron voted to make it worse for people who are already hurting. You fucking big piece of shit. You haven’t produced any fucking evidence to back up your claims about people with transgender care, but we have tons of empirical evidence telling us that there is an increased risk of suicide for people who don’t receive that care. So you, You fucking fathead, I can’t wait to see your name in the fucking obituary. I’ll make a fuckin’ martini with your conservative tears when you put your fucking ass in the ground you’re a useless fucking hunk of shit. Kiss my ass. Hope you have a terrible day. Go fuck yourselfffffff.

Although there is no “Marcus Venable” in the LSU Faculty Directorythere is a “Marcus Venable” listed as a “Cohort” 2017-2018 in the Department of Sociology at LSU. He is also listed as a “Professor in the Department of Sociology” at LSU. Screenshots of comments left by students for “Marcus Venable” on ratemyprofessors.com show that he appears to be quite political and vulgar. One student said “he always tries to impose one’s opinions on peoplewhile another says “he uses sexual assault as an example for literally everything”. Another claim is that he can “drive you crazy” if you internally disagree with his policy. This same student goes on to say “he cursed the whole class as he imposes his leftist political views on you.This same student says his class is the class to take because “attending class will get you an A.”
MJS 2017-2018 cohorts Venables’ list shows his interests are “criminology, sexual assault, sex offender recidivism, sex offender registries.”
According to Price, Senator Fesi reported it to the sheriff who was able to track down the number. We have contacted Senator Fesi and Professor Venable for comment. They hadn’t responded at the time of publication, but we’ll update if they do.
