“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at a cabinet meeting on Sunday that he would unilaterally resume the legislative process this week for the government’s controversial plan to weaken the Supreme Court and other democratic institutions,” Axios reports.
“The resumption of the legislative process without an agreement with the opposition on the judicial overhaul should give new impetus to anti-government protests and rekindle internal political tensions. It will also likely increase tensions between the Biden administration and Netanyahu’s far-right government.
