Amazon dropped its new Echo Buds today (along with a few other Echo devices), and they’re already on sale. Even better, the markdown puts them at just a third of the price of the 2021 Echo Buds.
Yes, you read that right. The 2023 Echo Buds are available for pre-order at just $39.99 (instead of the full price of $49.99 Amazon announced they would be(opens in a new tab) just a few hours ago). This will save you 20% and secure you a pair of buds officially releasing on June 7th.

And as we mentioned up top, that’s a huge price cut over the previous generation Echo Buds from 2021.(opens in a new tab)which was selling for $120 (and still does at the time of writing).
So what is the difference? The latest-gen buds ditch all noise cancellation, which certainly explains the much lower price. They’ve also been completely redesigned and look much more like generic AirPods-like headphones with a semi-in-ear design. Per charge, you’ll get up to five hours of battery life and three additional charges with the case, with 20 hours of battery life in total.
You’ll also get multipoint pairing, which lets you connect with up to two devices at once, and customizable touch controls for your music, phone calls, and more.
Overall, the new Echo Buds don’t offer a host of upgraded features, but they certainly have the foundation to be a solid entry-level pair of headphones at a pretty unbeatable price.
