Bluesky, the decentralized Twitter alternative backed by Jack Dorsey, now has an android app. The launch follows the release of the service’s iOS app, which was released in late February. However, if you want to access the service, you will need to join the waitlist or get an invite code from a friend.
There are some limitations to Bluesky at this time. Since it’s a small community, you probably won’t be able to follow the same people as on other social networks. And it still lacks basic features like direct messages. But I love scrolling through my Bluesky feed more than any right now, and if the platform takes off, it could prove to be a great alternative to Twitter — and Musk-proof.
