Unmasking the Misinformation Index: A pseudo-nonprofit organization that “blacklists” conservative news from online advertisers.
Guest post by Bob the Bishop
The First Amendment to the Constitution allows freedom of speech from government regulations or restrictions; in other words, no censorship. The term “fourth estate” describes the news media which is the government’s watchdog. The amendment extends freedom of expression to independent media that provide news and investigative journalism to the general public. Only a free press, based on truth and transparency, can effectively criticize and expose potential or actual government wrongdoing.
The public is waking up to the censorship of social media (Twitter and Facebook) and the extreme prejudice of mainstream media (i.e. The New York Times) that promote and support totalitarian government narratives and behavior federal and state.. A new emerging and highly destructive strategy is to “blacklist” independent conservative media outlets to defund them from advertising revenue, leading to their financial demise.
Censorship Think Tank
The mission of Disinformation Index (“DI”), together with its parent organization in the UK, Disinformation Index LTD. (“GDI”), is to defund conservative online news sites with allegations of alleged misinformation. GBT\DI disinformation focuses on LBGT, climate denial, voter fraud, illegal immigration, the Russia\Ukraine border dispute, abortion, the Biden family’s foreign business dealings, and anti content. -vaccine. Organizations invert facts and truth to create a contradictory political narrative.
Their rating system creates a blacklist shared with major ad companies and ad exchanges, including Google and Microsoft, to put an end to disadvantaged speech by canceling ad funding. These companies contract with GDI\DI to obtain information on who to target for definancing. When comparing sources of GDI risk, the bias is very apparent.
Bypassing Charity Laws
GDI was founded in the UK as a private public limited company and is not registered as a charity. It is run by British extremists Claire Melford and american Danny RogersCEO of DI.
by Clare Melford Youtube presentation.
According to its determination letter from the IRS, DI operates in City of Long Island, NY. DI’s secret sister charity, the AN Foundation, shares the same address and mission statement. Danny Rodgers is CEO of both organizations. The organizations are Delaware corporations to hide the identity of the directors and protect them from personal liability.
DI and AN Foundation are headquartered in San Antonio to avoid filing their legal documents and New York State tax returns, including required Audited financial statements. Neither organization is registered with the New York State Charities Office, violating New York Charities Law.
A Washington, DC law firm responded to a on line apply for DI’s current 990 tax return by requiring payment for the PDF tax return and mailing payment to DI’s address in San Antonio. The AN Foundation ignored a tax return request. THE address is a shared office space that rents workspace on a monthly basis. The manager informed me that DI and AN Foundation are not tenants but use the service that forwards their mail to an Oregon address. The two charities are also not registered with the State of Texas.
DI sent by certified mail statement 990 2021, which was redacted to obscure identities. The postage stamp was that of New York (zip code 10017). Proof that it operates in New York State.
Targeted Gateway Pundit
In a podcast on The Safety Tech Podcast last year, GDI CEO Clare Melford discussed her strategies for funding conservative websites. She said the Gateway Pundit was on GDI’s exclusion results list, leading ad companies and Google to not monetize her content. Link to the podcast hereand the segment starts at 24:10.
Gateway Pundit regularly appears in GDI’s weekly tracker. GDI deleted weekly tracking reports from its website. However, below is an example of the return machine on 2020 Voter Fraud. The Wayback Machine link includes numerous weekly search listings that target major conservative websites such as Breitbart News, American Thinker, Fox Nation and World News Daily.
State Department funding
The Washington Examiner reported that the National Endowment for Democracy and the Department of State Global Engagement Center in 2020 and 2021, funded $665,000 to UK GDI. Funds used nationally to defund conservative websites.
Other prominent funders are George Soros’ Open Society, the European Union and the United Kingdom. THE FForeign governments have a negative influence on the freedom of the press. Could DI be considered an agent of foreign governments and be required to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA)?
Pseudo-charities
DI and AN Foundation are pseudo-nonprofit organizations founded and controlled by parent organization GDI, which is also a pseudo-charity. They serve as feeder funds to finance the operations of the GDI. GDI and DI are closely linked by sharing key employees, a website, a ratings database and international partnerships with a mission to curtail press freedom. Is this also a violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO)?
DI and AN Foundation failed to organize and operate legally as non-profit organizations; they are de facto for-profit businesses and should be subject to federal and New York corporate income tax. Their efforts to suppress conservative speech go against the constitutional rights of conservative media.
