Garmin is one of the biggest names in fitness tracking, with wearables designed for all types of athletes. The company just made its two new Forerunner devices, the 265 And 965official and they come with great improvements over last year’s model. One of the biggest improvements here is the actual display, which is now AMOLED. Both models, which come in a variety of fun new colors, will be available to ship in five to eight weeks. The price is $450 and $600, respectively.
One thing Garmin is known for is delivering impressive battery life. It’s no different here, even with the switch to AMOLED. The Forerunner 265 is said to last up to 13 days in smartwatch mode while the Forerunner 965 comes in at an impressive 23 days per charge. With the Forerunner 965 you get 32GB of built-in storage, compared to the 8GB the 265 has, and it has a 1.4-inch screen while the 265 is 1.3-inch.
For the most part, the Garmin Forerunner 265 looks like a great option, although some features are only available on the Forerunner 965, like Garmin Golf support, real-time endurance, heat acclimation, Strava Live segments and a few others. Most runners will find everything they need in the most affordable model, but if you want to be sure, upgrading to the Forerunner 965 will give you a lot more data to play with.
