Keanu Reeves, the Hollywood star behind ‘The Matrix’ trilogy, is ecstatic about crypto, the Metaverse and NFT. In a recent interview with Wired On Tuesday, as part of his promotion of the latest John Wick 4 movie, Reeves said:

Matrix Movie, an AI prophecy?
In fact, The Matrix (1999) is considered a kind of prophecy about the evolution of artificial intelligence, which is embraced by the modern world today.
Although not specified in the original film, most fans assume The Matrix takes place at the end of the 22nd century. The events of the film take place in a virtual environment meant to mimic the late 20th century, so the precise year is unknown.

The year 2199 is depicted as the real world outside of synthetic reality in the sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
The whole concept was only part of that futuristic imagination, but today it’s proof that imagination can come true. Artificial intelligence, as we know it, is constantly evolving and these tools are creeping into everything, even on NFT art.
About the metaverse, Reeves said:
“It’s this sensorium. It’s spectacle (…) a system of control and manipulation. We are on our knees looking at the walls of the caves and seeing the projections, and we don’t have the chance to look behind us. Or to the side.

‘Pooh-Pooh-ing’ Crypto Only Empowers Him, Says Reeves
The famous Matrix star also revealed in December 2021 that he actually owns a crypto. He said a friend bought it for him and he hasn’t touched it since. Reeves also joked that the idea behind bitcoin also comes from the movie John Wick.
While Reeves was previously skeptical of the metaverse and also NFTs due to its volatile nature, he now has strong opinions in favor that crypto will emerge stronger and more resilient than ever despite the constant obstacles it faces. has faced over the years.
“So for crypto pooh-pooh, or cryptocurrency volatility, it’s only going to make it better in terms of protection,” the actor pointed out, without providing further details.
